MEMBERS CAR - FOR SALE

I have been contacted by Club Member Steve Scott-Exley and asked to put a bit on here. Steve is thinking of selling his 1968 Triumph Spitfire, shown below:

The car is Alpine white in colour, and comes with a Mohair hood. It is a 1968 model, 1296cc with an overdrive gearbox, K&N filters, Phoenix stainless 4 branch and Sports exhaust system, leather interior, electronic ignition. The car has done 21000 miles since a full rebuild by Steve nearly 20 years ago. The car has not been used much over the last couple of years. Steve has a rough price in mind, but is open to serious offers. Some more pictures are shown in the Members Cars section of the site. CLUB CARS AT FILMING OF THE RAILWAY MAN

On Tuesday 1st May, Hollywood came to Perth, when filming for a forthcoming movie took place at Perth Railway Station. Among the stars on show were Mike Rooney's Mk2 Escort, and my old BMW 3.0 Csi Coupe. Other stars on location were none other than Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth!

Pictures below show a few of the pictures of the vehicles and the set. Unfortunately we were not allowed to film or photograph any actual movie filming taking place.

It was interesting to speak with Willie Bennie, who is involved in the sourcing of particular classic cars for film shoots. He advises that he often gets specific requests for particular makes and models of cars, including colours etc. for inclusion in films. Willie often checks the members cars section on our site.

These film companies pay good money for the use / hire of classic vehicles. Are you the owner a classic car he has been after? I would strongly urge members who have not given me images of their cars to consider this information. Should you own a car, it could be financially rewarding to do so!

TAYSIDE CLASSIC MOTOR SHOW - SUNDAY 10TH JUNE 2012

As we approach our annual Show, we still have a few places left for any stall holders that would like to come along and be part of our event. We have stall pitches available at the bargain price of only £12. Anyone interested can contact Mary Macleod or any of the other committee members.

TAYSIDE CLASSIC MOTOR SHOW 2012 - SUNDAY 10TH JUNE 2012

Planning is already under way for our Annual Club Show. The 2012 Tayside Classic Motor Show is being held on Sunday 10th June 2012 at Errol Airfield, between Perth and Dundee. Thanks to the very great support from Classic Car enthusiasts, Classic Car Clubs from all over the Country, and a good number of people who visit our Show, we find it is getting bigger and better every year!

Last year we were quite lucky with the weather. After a dull and damp Saturday, Show day itself turned out to be dry. We had a large number of visitors, and ultimately raised and donated over £4100 to local Charities.

Returning Clubs, owners and visitors - We hope to see you again at our 2012 Show. The Show will be open from 10am until 4pm. There will be no changes in entry prices - Adults £4 and Children/OAP's £2. This is still great value for money and one of the cheapest Car Shows you will find anywhere in Scotland.

Anyone who has not visited our Show before - please come along. This is a great opportunity to get close up to all those Classic cars that are hardly seen these days. More details on our Club Show page.
